President Theodore Roosevelt once famously said, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”
Those are great words to keep in mind when you’re wanting to start living with intentionality. Intentionality means taking action each day to make a difference. People who embrace intentional living move from a life of observation and wishing into a life of action and doing.
Here’s five ways that will help you live in this mindset:
Start where you are. Opportunity is always wherever you are, so be willing to give of yourself where and when you can.
Start with your one thing. Everyone has one crazy cool thing they do better than anyone else. Find your one thing and begin developing it.
Start watching your words. What we say to ourselves either encourages or discourages us. Commit to using positive words of encouragement with yourself.
Start by making small changes. Small changes in thoughts, reading, speech or habit – when put together over time – yield big results.
Start approaching the world with an abundance mindset. One of the best ways to develop an abundance mindset is to be generous. When we repeatedly give, we start to assume that more will come our way. This week’s assignment is to engage in one or more acts of generosity. Give money, time, opportunities, prized possessions – anything of value. Just be sure to give with no expectation of return.
Every life has a purpose, and every life can make a difference!
