“We want to grow through life, not just go through life. As we develop, we discover our inner growth fuels who we are on the outside and positively sets us apart.”
You can outgrow your yesterdays and grow into your tomorrows when you choose to grow today!
The secret is that you choose to grow daily. If you string together enough days of consistent growth, you begin to change as a person. You become better, stronger, and more skilled. When you change yourself, you change your attitude and how you think, which is the baseline that puts growth within reach. You will only move toward your potential or capacity if your attitude is right.
Growth requires a mindset that values learning and maturing.
Growth can easily be compared to a garden because it requires an intentional decision in action. Typically, the first question to ask when starting a garden is, “what kind of garden do I want?” That question is important because the seeds you choose to sow will determine the harvest you will receive. And any gardener knows you can’t pull on the plants and expect them to grow faster. In other words, you can’t force a seed to grow faster than nature intended, so you can’t make trees bear fruit on demand.
This is also true in your personal growth. You may grow every day, but it will not show every day. Growth is a silent investment; it does not speak up; it shows up.
Therefore, you must weed and feed yourself every day. Weed out the negative influences in your life and nourish the positive ones. Wherever you focus your attention, it will become the driving force in your life. The choice is yours.
Here’s what you gain when you choose to grow personally.
You will unlock and achieve your potential.
You will feel good about yourself.
Your values and strengths will become stronger.
You will grow in humility and self-awareness.
You will become more, so you can do more.
You will be an example for others to follow.
Be so committed to personal growth that it encourages the ones around you to grow and expand. Be so committed to your development that it scares away those tempted to pull you back.
Power Statement. Today I will make positive growth choices that add value to my life.
Reflection: What’s one personal growth intention I will focus on starting today? What makes me committed?
