Did you know your words can change the course of your whole life?
Because there’s so much power in your words, we can do a whole lot of good with them. When we speak positive, uplifting, encouraging words about ourselves, our lives, and other people, we’re able to build them up and bring life to every situation.

Here are a few ideas to help you harness the life-giving power of your words:
Use your words to bless. One of the best ways to use your words is to speak blessings over everything around you. These are faith-filled words which bring life to others and your situation.
Be thankful and say so. Take a few minutes each day to think about everything you have to be thankful for. This simple practice makes a huge difference in your overall attitude.
Be a great encourager. Words of encouragement are powerful. They can actually make a person feel better physically and emotionally. Today think of the people you’ll be around – be intentional about putting a word of encouragement in your heart for them.
Tell the truth. Speak the truth in love.
Learn when to stop talking. Many times we just need to be quiet. Before you start to discuss things you feel strongly about, ask yourself how much you really need to say.
Be hard to offend. Make sure you are not holding someone accountable for words they never said. Capture clarity. We typically hear things, not as they are, but as we are.
Take responsibility for the condition of your heart. What’s rooted and hidden deep inside your heart will sooner or later be expressed openly through your mouth.
Let nothing disturb you. Conflict may be all around you – that will always be, yet it doesn’t have to get within you. Tether yourself to an inner peace that is not contingent upon your circumstances.
Be sure to taste your words before you speak them. Hold yourself accountable for what comes out of your mouth. Use the THINK visual: Is what I’m about to say: True, Helpful, Inspiring, Necessary and Kind?
