The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives. – Russel Nelson
One of the best ways to be joyful is to begin each day with a “think session.” Instead of letting the day's events shape your attitude, take a few minutes to set your mind before the day shows up. Joy is not about a feeling; it’s much more significant than simply feeling happy. It’s about living each day with gratitude tethered to your heart, an attitude that brings peace and contentment to your soul, even when your circumstances are difficult.
Joy is a decision, a courageous and personal one, about how you are going to respond to life. Joy is powerful. It does not simply happen; we must choose joy - and keep choosing it daily. When we do, a tender toughness prevails from within.
Intentionally Own It! Reflection:
Find the joy in the ordinary. Make a list of the things that bring joy to your life. Then, start each day this week by deciding to think about some of those joyful things…on purpose.
Take a shot! Gratitude weaves threads of strength into our hearts that dictate the course of our life outlook. Take one daily photo documenting something you are grateful for, something that added joy or meaning to your life. Doing so makes gratitude your lifestyle.
