“You can never rise higher than your expectations of yourself. Expect the best, believing that is who you are and want to be.”
Occasionally, someone compliments another individual by saying, "You are a class act!" or describes a specific behavior and says, "That's classy." A person with class is an individual of integrity, someone you would love to have in your life.
I love Bill Daniels's description of class: “Class is something you choose for yourself. It's competing honestly, confronting problems head-on, taking accolades with grace and humility, and not knocking your competitors. If you have class, you're loyal to yourself and those around you. Class is born out of self-respect and a healthy respect for others. Not everything in this world is always attainable. Fortunately, class is."
Choosing to embody the qualities of a Class-Act Leader empowers you to...
Live by your own highest standards.
Maintain dignity and grace under pressure.
Operate from a larger, inclusive perspective.
Increase the quality of every experience.
Counteract meanness, pettiness, and vulgarity.
Take responsibility for actions and results.
Strengthen the integrity of all situations.
Increase the confidence and capabilities of others.
Use your influence to show kindness to everyone.
Intentionally Own It: As you think about this message, what growth do you get to move toward? What makes this matter, and what motivates you to pursue it? How can you count on yourself to consistently move in this direction? What positive impact will this growth have on your life and others when you do?
