Allen Ross stated, “Humility is knowing and using your strength for the benefit of others. The humble leader is not weak, but strong - is not preoccupied with self, but with how best to use his or her strengths for the good of others. A humble leader does not think less of himself but chooses to consider the needs of others in fulfilling a worthy cause. I love to be in the presence of a humble leader because they bring out the very best in me. Their focus is on my purpose, my contribution, and my ability to accomplish all I aspire to become.”
Humble humans are comfortable with who they are. They diligently develop and refine their inner qualities, knowing that to bring out the best in others, they must first bring out the best in themselves. This core confidence provides the ability to let others excel and shine.
Choosing to be a humble human begins with our attitude and then becomes action. It’s linked to our motives, our security, and what we value.
Humble humans …
Believe in people and their potential.
Choose to see things from the perspective of others.
Create environments of encouragement.
Measure success by how much value they add to others.
Empower people to discover their greatness and inspire them to “be that!”
Humility is not weakness, but strength under control. – A.R. Bernard
