When others become your first thought, joy will be your new reality.

Joy isn’t based on circumstances or a “happy feeling” we have. It’s an unshakeable stability deep within our soul.

Every single day is filled with situations that try to steal our joy. For years, I thought I could be joyful if all my circumstances were just perfect, but that’s not real life. Here’s what will help us possess a joy that’s not contingent upon our circumstances …

Simplify your life. Make the choice to figure out what’s complicating your life. What is causing frustration and categorized as “joy stealers?”

Be yourself. Love who you are. Pay attention to what you are paying attention to. If you are comparing yourself to others, you will be frustrated, unhappy and insecure. You are uniquely made – a masterpiece with gifts, talents and abilities that equip you to fulfill your purpose.

Others. Get your mind off yourself by focusing on doing something good for someone else. At the core of any meaningful life is a vision for generosity, an understanding of what it means to bless others. Generosity depends not on how much money we have but the posture of our hearts. Begin taking just a few minutes every day to think about what you can do to help someone else. It’s is the quickest way to add joy to your life. Giving releases joy in our lives and allows us to be happy.
