If we are not a little uncomfortable daily, we’re not growing. All the good stuff is outside of our comfort zone. We have more potential than we realize, and more lies ahead than we can imagine.
But to move forward in life, we must step out of our comfort zones and take risks! The things that frighten us the most are often the very things that will propel us forward and upward, leading to personal growth and a more fulfilling life.
It doesn’t matter who we are or what we do; we can't eliminate risk from our lives. This shouldn’t bring us down; it should free us from the unreasonable burden of trying to eliminate risk from our lives. Because we can’t control everything, we are free to step out in faith, knowing that we have the strength and resilience to overcome any challenges that come our way.
But if you play it safe and give in to fear, you’ll limit yourself and miss out on opportunities. You need to get fear out of the driver’s seat and be willing to take a risk.
You are God’s workmanship, created for good works. He gave you gifts and talents - you weren’t born to exist merely to get by - you were born to live an abundantly passionate, purpose-driven life! What you’re most capable of is outside your comfort zone. So don’t settle where you are. Trust God, leave your comfort zone, and enter the adventure you were created for!
Intentionally Own It: May you always do what you are afraid to do, choosing to jump off the cliff and trusting that you will build your wings on the way down. When thinking of this statement, what will you commit to doing, afraid? When you do, what’s the gain of this growth – to you and others?
