“Life is amazing, if you don’t let it weaken you,” is a statement my 100-year-old grandma recently shared. It resonates with me now more than ever.
As of today, she has lived 36,603 days. Think about that for a moment … that’s a huge span of days to choose not to be weakened by the unsettling interruptions and circumstances life hands us.
I transfer my grandma’s wisdom your way, hopeful that her insight inspires you to claim an aggressive inward attitude that life is important and the lessons that line each day and each year are important too. I pray that you’ll be led to make a decision to cultivate an attitude of hope in your life – every day. To lock yourself up in this mindset and influence others to do the same.
Proverbs 13:12 reminds us “that hope deferred makes the heart sick.”
Hope is what helps us hold on when life gets hard.
As you look ahead, choose to speak positive things about your future and refuse to be negative. Think of it this way: What are you hoping for or expecting in your life this year? What are you looking forward to? Focus on that. We steer toward where we stare.
I’ll leave you with a poem that captured my attention … I thought it may speak to you too!
Life is amazing.
And then it’s awful.
And then it’s amazing again.
And in between the amazing and awful
it’s ordinary and mundane and routine.
Breath in the amazing,
hold on through the awful, and relax
and exhale during the ordinary.
That’s just living heartbreaking,
soul-healing, amazing, awful,
ordinary life.
And it’s breathtakingly
beautiful.
