Hope is where goals begin.
Hope is a building block of psychological capital and resilience. Psychological capital is having the mental toughness to achieve what’s important to you.
Hope gives you that ability to see what is still possible. It’s essential for goal setting and a character strength that can be nurtured. When you have hope, you create goals that are authentic.
When we stop having hoping, we start settling. We start settling for less than what’s possible – we start downsizing our dreams and downsizing our life and goals.
Ask yourself:
“Where have I perhaps settled because I have given up that sense of hope?”
“What do I need to dust off? What have I neglected for some time?”
“Why is that?”
When you think about your personal and professional life, what is it time to hope for?
…this is what I really want.
…if I know I can have it, this is what I would really go for.
…what am I willing to set as a goal that authentically reflects that hope?
