Life will throw you all sorts of difficulties, and they can make you better or worse. That’s your call.
No matter how carefully you plan your progress in any area of your life, you will have setbacks. That's part of the journey. Successful people are able to press through difficulty and delay and get right back on track without wasting time, feeling bad about themselves, or losing momentum.
Adversity isn’t always bad. Adversity can be something to be thankful for because it can be used to strengthen you. Winston Churchill said, “Difficulties mastered are opportunities won.”
If you allow difficulties and challenges to frustrate, intimidate, or discourage you, you will never overcome them. But suppose you face them head-on and press through the adversities you encounter, refusing to give up during them and moving forward with a heart of gratitude. In that case, you will develop the skills and determination needed to be everything you were created to be.
Because of obstacles, now you have the opportunity to expand. The question is…what do you do with those obstacles? How will they make you better? If you choose to get better because of everything life throws at you, the harder life is, the better you will be.
Don’t get stuck in a place you’re only supposed to be passing through!
Consider writing down your wins as you have them. Celebrating your successes, even small ones, will help you press past your setbacks. Keep a journal of your journey and include the lessons you're learning along the way. Don't overreact to setbacks. Remind yourself often of the progress you've made, and remember, adversity can only ruin your life if it ruins your character.
